This painting is about that peaceful moment when everything softens and you begin to drift. It’s inspired by the feeling of being completely surrounded by colour, where the world feels slower, deeper and more internal.
I wanted this piece to feel immersive, like stepping into a garden at dusk where the light is fading and everything starts to blur into rich, layered tones of violet, plum and soft greens. The flowers overlap and dissolve into one another, creating a sense of movement that feels less like running and more like sinking gently into the moment.
There’s a calmness here, but also a kind of pull, as if the painting is drawing you further in the longer you look.
For me, this work is about letting go, losing track of everything outside of the moment, and allowing yourself to be completely held by colour.
