Original artwork description:

I love the Shard and was very excited about going up to see London from a new angle. All the huge buildings suddenly look like dolls houses and the city looks like a beautiful 3D map laid out in front of you. I went up in early October just before dusk. In this painting I wanted to recreate that Autumnal sunshine that seems to make everything glow.

The painting is framed in a bespoke dark grey 'whistler' style frame with gold beading and a white slip.

Materials used:

Oil on linen canvas
