In this painting, flowers exist somewhere between form and dissolution. Some remain clearly visible, while others seem to emerge from or disappear into washes of color.

I was interested in allowing watercolor to behave in its own way — letting water, pigment and chance become part of the image rather than controlling every detail. Pink, turquoise and green move through the composition, connecting the individual flowers until they begin to feel like part of one continuous movement.

The work explores a moment in which observation slowly gives way to something less defined — where a flower is still a flower, but also color, movement and memory
