Tribal dancing (2026) Original Stone Sculpture by Antonio Mele

42 x 52 x 32cm (unframed)

1 Artist Review

£3,619.48

The work "Tribal Dancing" is made from a single piece of Carrara marble. It depicts three feet in the act of dancing, a dance step suspended in time. The energy present in the dance is recreated with the energy of the visible marks left in the sculpture, while the surface of the foot suspended in the air appears smoother and more refined, yet with veins swollen with blood.
The sculpture is part of a new series that focuses on the idea of waste, of rejection. Using marble scraps that were unused because they were amorphous or deemed imperfect. Pieces of marble given a second chance, believing that even waste holds great potential.
