This is a painting of an oak tree on Hammers Lane in Mill Hill, North London. I drive past this tree almost every day, sometimes while driving up the hill, sometimes down the hill. I am fascinated by this tree - the expanse of its branches, the view around it, the light playing on its trunk and branches , how it changes depending on the time of day, weather, season and the view point. This particular painting is one of a series of paintings of this tree.
