TRACES-02 (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Kalina Gotseva

TRACES-02 is a unique monotype exploring gesture, repetition and the physical memory of movement. Dense fields of marks sweep across the surface in shifting directions, building a composition that moves between intensity and stillness. Deep cobalt and Prussian blues intersect with softer cyan tones, revealing layers of pressure, texture and exposure.

Created through a camera-less photographic process using photosensitive cyanotype chemistry and light, the work embraces the physical irregularities of its making. Scratches, imprints and gestural marks remain visible within the image, while subtle variations in the paper surface become part of the final composition.

Part of the TRACES series, the work considers a mark as evidence of an action, a physical record of something that has already happened.

TRACES-02 is a one-of-one original cyanotype. No edition or identical duplicate exists. Signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
