Artwork description:

A large reduction linocut inspired by a recent trip to Japan, featuring a torii gate on the beach on Miyajima Island. I wanted to capture the warmth of the sunny day and the weathered texture of the wooden torii gate.

A reduction print is a relief print formed with layers of colour that are cut and printed from the same block, in this case, from lino. This is one of a small edition of 10 prints, all of which are printed by hand so small variations occur between them making each one truly original.

This piece was printed in 14 layers and 21 colours, using water-based, light-fast inks on Somerset Satin paper and has a beautiful matt finish. It is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom, mounted in a neutral colour and wrapped in cellophane to keep it clean. The mounted work will fit in a 16x20inch frame.

This artwork will be packaged in a bubble envelope with plenty of card support for safety.
