The Tango Is Over (2010) Original Mixed-media Painting by Victoria Alferonok

53 x 73 x 1.5cm (framed) / 50 x 70cm (actual image size)

£348.14

The last note has faded—and the familiar image of a “rose between the teeth” is turned on its head. Here, a “mouth on the rose” is a playful inversion of the theatrical cliché: a metaphor for words left unsaid and the taste of a kiss, the echo of a voice still vibrating in the pause after the music. Against a deep garnet ground, the stem’s fine diagonal carries this mark of memory, while silvery sparks and the geometric rhythm below fix the pulse of a dance just stilled.

Original hand-painting on 100% silk. Professional textile dyes with reliable fixation: a soft shimmer of silk and lasting, colorfast tones.

Th vertical 70 × 50 cm format creates a striking accent in a living room, bedroom, or study. Suits contemporary classic, minimal, neo–Art Deco, and eclectic interiors, complementing both warm and neutral palettes.

Materials used:

textile dyes, 100% silk
