The Runners Giclée print by Cyril Power

Linocut (c. 1930). Original image size: 17.4 x 35.0cm. Printed from 2 blocks: Venetian red and viridian. Power’s runners seem as if propelled towards their finishing line by abstract curving lines behind them. The lines might also be taken to echo the runner’s strides; and the marks on the ground each contestant makes are like springs which further propel each runner.

This print is authorised for publication by the artist's Estate and has a seal of authenticity embossed onto the white paper margin. It is from a limited edition of 950 and is hand-numbered and hand-embossed. This print has a typed caption running along its paper border. The caption indicates permission and authorisation from the artist's Estate, and from the museum or gallery holding the work. The caption will be concealed by a mount when the print is framed.
