The New Cable Giclée print by Sybil Andrews

61 x 49cm (unframed)

£138

Colour linocut (1931). Original size: 30.8 x 32.5. Also known as ‘The Giant Cable’. As in so many of the Grosvenor School prints, depictions of the human figure are made abstract and anonymous. This is in tune with their democratic ideals: the anonymity a symbol of egalitarian universality. Here the abstraction allows for a repetition of the circular form along the cable length. It also enhances a sense of collective commitment: these are men at work as a group, working together on their joint project. This is a wonderful metaphor for collective endeavour.

This print is authorised for publication by the artist's Estate and has a seal of authenticity embossed onto the white paper margin. It is from a limited edition of 850 and is hand-numbered and hand-embossed. This print has a typed caption running along its paper border. The caption indicates permission and authorisation from the artist's Estate, and from the museum or gallery holding the work. The caption will be concealed by a mount when the print is framed.

Dispatch time: 5 working days for unframed prints. 14 working days for framed prints.

Materials used:

Giclée print on 310gsm thick, 100% cotton rag.
