The Modelmaker (2026) Etchings & engravings by Michaela Wheater

This print is an original handmade print which shows a model maker in his studio. It is an Artist's Proof an is the only version with this particular yellow as a second colour. The edition is small and of only 5 prints.
It is a Photopolymer Etching. A photographic image that I took has been edited then printed onto acetate. UV light was then used to expose the image onto a photopolymer plate which was developed and fixed in order to create a plate akin to an etching plate. The plate can be inked, wiped and printed in a press in the same way that an etching is. The colour is printed first from a collagraph plate that is also used to show the white from the string of twinkling lights.
