The Distant Urban Pulse transforms a distant city into an experience of light, rhythm and concentrated energy. Rather than defining buildings or streets, Zakhar Shevchuk places the viewer within an ambiguous natural foreground of trees, vegetation and dark organic forms. Beyond them, the urban environment gathers around a luminous central field, as though the city were revealing itself through its pulse rather than its architecture.

Painted on a monumental 150x200 cm canvas, the work combines olive, ochre, grey and charcoal passages with vertical drips, sweeping brushwork and partially dissolved forms. The bright centre creates a powerful counterpoint to the darker surrounding landscape, producing a sense of energy radiating through the composition.

Hovering between expressionist cityscape and abstraction, the painting deliberately leaves geography unresolved. What remains is the sensation of looking from the relative stillness of nature towards the distant intensity of urban life.
