The Devil’s Dyke is a large joyful semi-abstract landscape painting of a place on the South Downs in East Sussex. It is 36 x 36 x 1.5 inches. The painting was deliberately made so that the edges are blurred and quite art-nouveau in style. The lines of it lead the eye into the centre of the canvas which is more focused – showing bushes and brambles and wildflowers weaving into a tangled thicket – nature in abundance. You can see a path along the edge of a deep rift between hills (the Devil’s Dyke) and across the rift you can see more hills and fields and trees beyond fading into the distance. This is an exact spot where I felt very happy this summer listening to the birds and insects around me as I walked along the edge of the Dyke. I think I expressed my emotions quite well! Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity.
