Artist's description:

Every year, from mid-April, I start watching out for the annual springtime arrival of the Swifts from their African homes, anticipating the swooping, squealing, joyous gangs of whooshing black crescents darting and weaving in the sky above me.

I recently discovered the Ted Hughes poem 'Swifts' which captured how I feel about them and decided to create this linoprint.

I used Caligo Safewash ink on A4 sized Fabriano Accademia 200gsm paper.
