Original artwork description
Three panels, each holding a vertical cluster of painted slats — greys, blue-greys, a chalk white — gathered around a single length of found wood left unpainted at the centre. The salvage is the only warm element in each panel and the only one not worked.
The clusters sit at different heights and differ in character. The left is contained, with a long thin batten running past it top and bottom. The middle is the tallest and most complex, and holds the set's only enclosed void near its foot. The right is the sparest, riding high with open ground beneath it. Two small cobalt blocks, one on the middle panel and one on the right, are the only saturated notes.
The ground is a warm greenish-grey that keeps the cool slats from going cold. Elements sit at several depths and cast their own shadows.
Acrylic and found wood on wood panel. Three panels, 12 × 48 in each. Signed. Ready to hang.
