Artwork description
Jindo lived in the United States and was deeply loved by his family, who commissioned this sculpture as a lasting memorial and a place to hold his ashes. They shared many treasured memories of their beloved companion and wanted every detail captured as faithfully as possible, from his distinctive markings to his gentle expression.
One of Jindo's most endearing features was the charming flop at the tip of one ear. This unique characteristic was recreated on the original commission, making that sculpture a truly personal tribute. The foundry bronze memorial also incorporated a discreet compartment with a concealed door, allowing a portion of Jindo's ashes to be placed safely inside.
Please note that the photographs of the original foundry bronze sculpture show the customised floppy ear tip and concealed ashes compartment, both of which were created exclusively for the commission piece. These bespoke features are not included on subsequent castings of the edition.
Each bronze Jindo sculpture bears Tanya's signature and its own unique edition number. Every casting is personally approved by the artist and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity, along with a complimentary cleaning kit to help preserve its beauty for years to come.
