Sheltered beyond the world (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Sophie HORS

I create this portrait between acrylic painting and collage of paper. I cut small turquoise leaves of paper and fixed them to compose the dress. The figure, deliberately cropped and turned away from the viewer preserves an air of mystery. In the tradition of the Old masters, I chose to place the portrait of this young lady against a dark background to allow its colors to emerge with intensity. Deep emerald green, luminous turquoise and warm coral pink compose a palette both vibrant and serene. Decorative yet introspective, the painting celebrates the quiet beauty of solitude. The painting is fixed in a solid oak floating frame.
