SOLD.
Small scale ink and wash drawing from landscape near Dumfries. An open stretch of Scottish farmland under a large sky. I was drawn to the simplicity of the scene, where there wasn't much to hold onto except the proportions of land to sky. Ink on a view like this can go flat very quickly, and I was trying to find just enough variation in the line to keep it alive. Whether I managed it, I leave to the viewer. Commissions of similar subjects available on request.
