Rigging (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Charles BEALL
24 x 12 x 0.4" / 24 x 12" (actual image size)
$650
Original artwork description
A black scaffold of crossed battens holds the left side, a red stop-block interrupting it, five ruled pencil lines running off like a measuring scale. On the right, a blue triangle and a red one, a black mast, two long horizontals for waterline and hull. Between them a mint disc, floating free of both readings.
The left half refuses the boat the right half offers. The eye keeps sliding between construction and picture.
Acrylic and painted wood on wood panel. The elements stand proud of the surface and cast their own shadows.
