Red Squirrel in Snow (2026) Original Oil Painting by Natalia Shaykina

This original artwork shows a red squirrel sitting quietly in the snow, surrounded by soft winter branches and cool blue shadows. The squirrel’s warm reddish fur, fluffy tail and gentle expression stand out against the pale snowy background, creating a tender winter animal painting with a peaceful woodland mood.

This 18 x 24 cm piece would work beautifully as squirrel wall art for a bedroom, hallway, living room, cottage interior, country home, cabin decor or winter-inspired space. It is especially suitable for someone who loves squirrels, woodland animals, winter scenes, wildlife art and original animal artwork with a soft natural feeling.

I painted this piece to capture the quiet charm of a small red squirrel in a snowy landscape. The contrast between the warm fur and the cool winter background gives the composition softness, freshness and gentle seasonal light. The close-up view makes the squirrel feel expressive and personal, bringing a calm woodland atmosphere into an interior.

Created with high-quality professional European oil paints on gallery-wrapped linen canvas, the artwork has visible texture, layered brushwork and a refined hand-painted surface. The oil technique allows the fur, snow, branches and soft winter background to reveal subtle colour variations and delicate detail when seen in person.

Size: 18 x 24 cm / 7 x 9.5 in.

Colours may slightly vary due to screen differences. In person, the colours reveal even more subtle nuances and depth.
