PROLIFÉRATION (2026) Original Watercolour by Eva Fialka

Proliferation explores the strange beauty of forms that grow, spread and transform beyond our control. Inspired by microscopic worlds, fungi, cells and living organisms, the painting developed intuitively through fluid colour, salt, diffusion and accidental reactions. Acid greens, turquoise, deep violet and flashes of fluorescent pink merge into a dense, shifting mass, while delicate filaments escape into the surrounding white space.

Some areas seem to bloom, others to decay or mutate, creating an ambiguous territory somewhere between attraction and unease. Rather than depicting a specific organism, the work suggests an imagined form of life caught in the process of becoming — expanding, connecting and quietly taking over its environment.
