Petal Drift III belongs to the second kind. Its turquoise depths and sculptural blossoms — each one built by palette knife in a single, instinctive motion — carry a stillness that settles into a space the way a deep breath does. Pink roses catch the light. Blue petals hover weightlessly. Delicate branches trace their way across the canvas like a thought that doesn't need to finish. The luminous background, painted with a brush in sweeping layers of spray paint, breathes air and light into the entire composition.
