In "Peonies", I explore the tactile nature of painting through peonies grown in my own garden. Developed over the course of nearly an entire summer, the work is centered on translating an authentic emotional state onto the canvas—creating an intimate, resonant atmosphere that directly engages the viewer’s senses.

The sonic landscape of Paul McCartney, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, and Oasis informed the painting's internal dynamics and layering. The composition balances dense, structural brushwork with airy optical space: tactile white and crimson petals emerge from deep emerald foliage, grounded by a muted ceramic vase and an orange accent on the sill. It is a study in painterly presence, where color harmonies and sustained studio labor turn a fleeting botanical encounter into an enduring sensory experience.
