Pennsylvania Fields (2026) Original Ink Drawing by Steve Potts

I visited my hometown of Cressona in Schuylkill County in 2026, and this drawing came from photos and sketches made there. Farmland in every direction, rolling hills, tree-lines sitting low on the horizon. It is the kind of landscape you can grow up in and not really see until you come back to it later. The ink here went on heavily in the foreground, and the contrast between the dense marks and the pale open field beyond was something the drawing arrived at rather than something I planned. A small piece, but I tried to fill it with enough detail to allow you to imagine walking into the scene.
