Shadows and Peaches (2026) Original Oil Painting by Radosveta Zhelyazkova

This painting is a little different from my usual compositions. The shadow occupies a large part of the canvas, while the peaches are placed high in the composition, leaving more space and quietness around them.

While arranging the peaches, the gardenia behind me cast this shadow, and I liked it so much that I decided to let it become an important part of the composition.

I worked with a muted palette and soft transitions, trying to preserve a feeling of stillness and calm. The result is something quiet, gentle and slightly dreamy — a moment where the shadow became just as important as the fruit itself.
