The boy wears a colorful scarf. He's looking out, either at some adults having a conversation or perhaps his computer where his favorite game is paused until he returns to it. Either way, it's a good portrait.

"Young boy with cherries" - This shows a young boy sitting at a table, apparently picking them off a branch lying in a bowl of water. Another bowl has some cherries in it. The boy has a hat on, he's apparently the one who brought them in. There are so many different things on the table, but the boy is just there. A peaceful picture, we'll clean up the mess later... "Sunday afternoon" - A young man, still in his jacket, sitting at a table enjoying a hot drink, he's already ate some soup. His eyes are fixed on someone out of the picture, perhaps him mother. The mother is quite an artist, and these are both winners. Good work, Radosveta! Bob

This painting was inspired by "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas," where two eight-year-old boys, Bruno, the son of the camp boss, and Shmuel, a Jewish prisoner, become friends. The boy symbolizes the two young kids, their friendship, the joy of shared company, their naive games, innocent conversations, and their willingness to help a friend. The skull symbolizes the horrific backdrop of the Holocaust and the paradoxical situations in which life sometimes puts us. I had it opposite my seat for several weeks; the whole time, I never found any other reason to place it in the center of my wall.

Very catchy, a small boy sitting in a chair, holding a cup filled with pencils. A very nice picture with a nice feeling, but I wonder why he's holding the cup. That, and perhaps a table or something giving the boy a purpose, would make the picture more meaningful.

Dear Bob, Thank you so much for your review, also for your suggestion and idea! You are right-there is no table or sheets of blank paper. The little boy is focused on the cup with the pencils trying to count them. Kids often use colored pencils and/or fingers to learn to count. This is my interpretation of the moment.
