Orange Frequency (2025) Original Collage by Lu Dixon

42 x 59.4cm (unframed)

£295

"Orange Frequency" is a visual exploration of rhythm, repetition, and the hidden signals found within urban environments. This mixed-media piece serves as a "broadcast" of colour and texture, where bold orange circles act as resonant pulses against an industrial backdrop of charcoal blacks and stark whites.
The composition utilises a dense layering of halftone patterns, chevrons, and gestural splatters to create a sense of movement, as if the viewer is tuning into a specific, high-energy wavelength. The prominent numeral "3" functions as a frequency marker, grounding the abstract chaos with a sense of deliberate, graphic intent.
Through this work, I aim to translate the invisible noise of modern life into a tangible, energetic harmony.

Materials used:

Mixed media using acrylics, inks, watercolour, gesso, collage papers and stencils, creating layered textures and expressive surface detail.
