Inspired by waiting for a London underground train. Capturing a feeling of going nowhere, as reflected by the tube station sign. The character sits towards the end of a quiet platform, coffee in one hand and in the other, checking his phone to pass the time. I wanted to bring some movement into the painting to contrast with the stillness of waiting.
