Working with fluid ink, gesso, and acrylic, I let the pigment find its own trajectory — and in Nature 548, it burst outward with unexpected force. An electric blue erupts from a dark, concentrated core, scattering in arcs across a pale grey-white ground. The gesture was quick; the result feels arrested mid-explosion, every droplet frozen at the edge of its reach.

The layers build depth that the photo barely captures: a rough gesso base absorbs the ink differently depending on how wet the surface was, creating dense clusters where pigment pooled and thin halos where it barely touched. The contrast between the white margins and the charged centre is what gives this piece its tension.
