Michaelmas Giclée print by Sybil Andrews

38.99 x 49cm (unframed)

£138

Linocut (1937). Original size: 30.9 x 23.0cm. Work is often the subject of portrayal for Grosvenor School artists (see Cyril Power and Lill Tshudi particularly) but the Grosvenor School often emphasized the anonymity of their labouring figures. There’s a stylisation of form here, and no clear individuality in the depiction of the two workers, but this is deliberate. The Grosvenor School had strong democratic ideals, and an anonymity of portrayal symbolises the kind of egalitarian universality in which these artists believed.

This print is authorised for publication by the artist's Estate and has a seal of authenticity embossed onto the white paper margin. It is from a limited edition of 850 and is hand-numbered and hand-embossed. This print has a typed caption running along its paper border. The caption indicates permission and authorisation from the artist's Estate, and from the museum or gallery holding the work. The caption will be concealed by a mount when the print is framed.

Dispatch time: 5 working days for unframed prints. 14 working days for framed prints.

Materials used:

Giclée Print on 310gsm thick, 100% cotton rag.
