Magical Tree (2019) Original Mixed-media Painting by Phyllis Mahon

Inspired mainly by the tree in my garden, full of light and colour ...

I've used professional and intense watercolours, as well as pearlescent* blue acrylic which is mostly lying underneath the main colours - all on Indian** handmade paper.
Then I've added many layers of Inktense crayons and Caran d'Ache pencil, finished off with chalk pastels for highlights.

I've created a CGI to show the painting hanging in a room setting; another photograph is the painting placed in my hallway and another is taken by my front door with one of my beautiful trees in the distance in all its golden autumn glory.

The painting is available unframed
Packed flat and sent by (signed) Tracked Delivery with a Certificate of Authenticity.

*the pearlescent effect is best seen around the tree trunk area and at an angle

*Indian cotton handmade paper is coloured with a natural pigment and has a pretty deckled edge which if desired can be made a feature of when it is time to frame.
This particular paper is approximately A3 (12 x 17 inches)
