The title "Má" is an affectionate abbreviation of the Spanish word Mom, evoking a playful father figure inspired by Mexican wrestling characters, popular culture and symbolic storytelling.
My work is centered on visual storytelling and the creation of images and objects that evoke nature, dreams, literature, music, humor, irony, echoes of history, and the residual iconography of art.
Storytelling is at the core of my practice. I build narratives from fragments collected from everyday life: internet images, street observations, television, films, magazines, and books. These references are transformed into symbolic and poetic worlds inhabited by hybrid characters and unexpected connections.
My practice is rooted in craftsmanship. I work in both two and three dimensions, using simple materials and basic tools to create artworks that balance imagination, memory, and playfulness.
