This semi-refractory ceramic sculpture depicts the word "Love" in an unstable vertical position; the sculpture's letters convey a precarious balance. It is precisely this message of instability and precariousness that characterizes affection and love in our contemporary world that it seeks to highlight. The need for care and attention for affections and relationships that are otherwise destined to break.
The unique technique I used to create the blades of fire on the white glaze is very precious. It is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Raku ceramic technique.
