“There is a magnificent dignity in surrender. Not all battles are meant to be won; some are meant to be felt, as the last light of the sky finally gives way to the inevitable weight of the earth.”
The Monumental Dusk: This 80 x 120 cm abstract landscape is a powerful expansion of the themes explored in its smaller counterparts. It captures a landscape in the throes of a silent, epic struggle—where the vibrant, electric teal of the sky is being slowly besieged by the rising, crimson-tinted shadows of the ground. By applying the Blinkered method to this larger scale, I have created a vast field of tension that feels both ancient and immediate.
The Musical Cipher: The title Lost Battle serves as a somber, rhythmic anchor in my "sonic diary." It echoes a specific, atmospheric track—perhaps one with a slow, driving beat and heavy distortion—that dictated the physical intensity of the brushstrokes. I invite the collector to find the auditory vibration that matches this "bleeding" horizon; only then is the full synergy of the work’s emotional gravity unlocked.
Tectonic Depth: Executed on premium linen, the painting’s surface is a study in friction and flow. Using unconventional DIY tools like sponges and coarse rags, I’ve built layers of translucent color that create a "kaleidoscopic" transition from light to dark. The deep, rust-colored undergrowth at the base provides a visceral contrast to the ethereal sky, making the canvas a striking, high-contrast centerpiece for any contemporary painting collection.
