Original artwork description
Looking Too Close (2025)
“When the sky and the water become one, the horizon is no longer a line—it’s a choice. If you look too close, you might forget which way is up.”
The Azure Mirror: This 100 x 150 cm work is a profound exploration of symmetry and liquid light. It captures the ethereal moment when a perfect blue sky dissolves into the still surface of a lake. By applying the Blinkered method, I have stretched this vertical reflection into a vast, horizontal field of blues and misty greys, challenging the viewer to find the boundary between the atmosphere and the abyss.
The Musical Cipher: The title Looking Too Close is a direct fragment of my "sonic diary." It serves as a cryptic link to a specific track or a lyrical hook that dominated the studio's atmosphere during the painting's creation. This auditory puzzle invites the collector to listen for the rhythm that matches these hazy indigos; only then is the full synergy of the work's internal pulse unlocked.
Fluid Geometry: Executed on premium linen, the painting features a rich, kaleidoscopic texture built through dozens of translucent layers. Using unconventional DIY tools like sponges and rags, I’ve created a surface that mimics the subtle movement of water and the weightlessness of air. This piece is designed as an "immersion point" for modern interiors, bringing a sophisticated, cooling energy to large contemporary spaces.
