Limones al Sol (2026) Original Watercolour by jahzeely sinai

29.7 x 42 x 0.1cm (unframed) / 29.7 x 42cm (actual image size)

£126.04

An original watercolour inspired by the freshness of citrus and the delicacy of Mediterranean ceramics. The composition shows whole lemons and citrus wedges on a decorative blue plate, surrounded by green leaves and fluid transparencies that create a light, luminous atmosphere. The natural blooms and drips of the watercolour bring movement and spontaneity to the piece, combining a modern style with an organic, handmade feel. Ideal for bringing colour and freshness to kitchens, studios or creative corners.

A summer table seen at an angle: a blue checked cloth, a beer bottle, a half-finished glass and a plate of whole lemons and wedges with a few mint leaves.

What holds this watercolour together is the light. The shadows aren't grey — they are painted in blue, and where they cross the checks of the cloth they darken them without muddying them, which is exactly what midday sun does. The white of the paper has been reserved for the reflections in the glass and for the lit part of the cloth; there is no white paint anywhere in the piece.

At the top, two loose blooms — one ochre, one blue-green — are left undefined, revealing that the work was resolved wet-on-wet, with no going back to correct.

Watercolour on heavy-weight paper, A3 format (approx. 29.7 × 42 cm), signed.
