Leaf # 4 was a one off painting made shortly after my Pink Ground series. The painting is a tactile and textural painting based on drawing's of falling autumn leaves and tree shadows cast over the ground of a forest in North Yorkshire. The painting is made with differing oil based resins creating a matt, glossy and densely layered surface. The painting aims to evoke a sense of landscape and nature from a semi abstract stance.
