I didn’t plan this painting. I planned a direction.
Deep green, large format, palette knife on linen — that much I knew. Where the branches would go, where the light would land, whether the composition would hold — that I discovered while painting, not before.
Somewhere in the green there is one small white rose. I put it there as my personal mark — it appears in every painting I make, never in the same place twice. Find it.
Kodama is part of my Space series — my largest works, painted on natural linen without a sketch. The canvas ships rolled. You stretch it locally. It arrives as a possibility.
