A schooner yacht sails into Kingston, Jamaica. The image is my adaptation of a picture in the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich, painted by John Lynn c.1834. Surely this is the only right and proper way to arrive in Jamaica! A turtle is sat between the two men in the canoe, a peculiar detail I thought should be included.
The print was pulled from relief matrices cut from rubber, a variant of letterpress. The printed sheet would fit straight into a standard 11 x 13 inch frame.
oil-based printing inks, JPP Archival Dull White Inlay paper
