Keep moving (Weitergehen) (2014) Original Acrylic Painting by Ralf Schmidt

To me, “Moving Forward” is an image of the decision to follow one’s own path. The figure strides forward resolutely, her gaze fixed on what lies ahead. In the background, however, there is turmoil: different shapes, colors, and textures overlap, evoking all the voices, influences, and doubts we encounter along the way.
Sometimes we don’t know if the direction we’ve taken is really the right one. Others offer advice, voice doubts, or claim to know exactly what we should do better. But ultimately, we have to go our own way. For me, therefore, “Moving Forward” also means trusting my own feelings and instincts—even when it’s not yet clear exactly where the path will lead.
It’s not about dispelling all doubts. It’s about not letting them hold us back.
