The drawing was originally just an exercise for me. I wanted to experiment with more colours and step outside my comfort zone, but it turned into so much more.
The vibrant colours brought me more joy whilst drawing than I’ve felt in a long time. I enjoyed every second spent working on the picture and learnt a great deal about colour theory from it.
What’s more, macaws are simply very special animals that deserve to be depicted far more often, not only for their vibrant plumage but also for their whole nature.


Drawn with the highest-quality coloured pencils on acid-free art paper in A5 size (14,8 x 21 cm). It is dispatched in a simple plexiglass frame for protection.
