Jade Green III (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Anastassia Skopp
60 x 60 x 2cm (unframed) / 60 x 60cm (actual image size)
£513.93
Original artwork description
Jade doesn't announce itself. It simply lasts.
For thousands of years, this particular green was carved into burial ornaments, chosen not for rarity but for what its color meant: purity, virtue, a kind of protection meant to outlast the body entirely. This canvas moves inside that same quiet permanence — pale roses caught mid-bloom against a deep, layered green, some open, some still closed, held with the same unhurried patience jade itself seems to carry.
Branches cross the composition in directions that were never fully mapped out in advance. The artist describes her practice this way: her hand sets a direction, but what happens after — where a branch lands, whether a bud opens — belongs to something outside her control.
This is a painting built on trust in a color that has been trusted for millennia.
Medium: Acrylic (spray, Heavy Body, Fluid) on 100% linen canvas
