Green in Japan has never meant permanence — it means the leaf before it darkens.
An eternity made not of preservation but of return. That distinction is what this canvas is built on. Where the first work in this series held jade's stone-cold promise of forever, this green refuses to settle: it moves from near-black to almost luminous depending on where you stand. The roses are pale, some open, some still closed, left at whatever stage they reached rather than arranged into agreement.
My hand sets the direction and nothing else. Where a branch lands, whether a bud opens: my work lives in the space between control and its absence.
