Black pencil, Golden and Liquidex Pro acrylic colour on thai handmade mulberry paper(kada sa) , deckled edge, 9.75 x 13.5 in., 25 x 34.5 cm
Expressive figure work. Thanks Aaron for your great poses! This is a nice size to work on this textured handmade paper. I find it easy to work out ideas, calculate the overall effect and see how to advance the project. And the figure is a good subject… the lines are always fluid, the challenge is to put movement into it.
I occasionally like to return to this traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It’s a thick parchment type paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect. The close up picture is get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress, and me with the work for perspective.
