In this painting, I wanted to capture not a specific place, but the feeling of an immense mountain landscape at the moment when light breaks through a constantly changing sky.

Deep blues and violets of the mountains and clouds contrast with flashes of gold, pink, orange and almost pure white. The horizon gradually dissolves, allowing the recognisable landscape to move toward abstraction — a world of colour, movement and atmosphere.

I worked with both brush and palette knife, building expressive texture and rich impasto. I wanted to give the paint a sense of freedom, allowing the colours to flow, collide and dissolve into one another.

For me, the painting is about that brief moment when, after the tension of the elements, the landscape suddenly fills with light. I leave the horizon open so that each viewer can imagine what lies beyond it.
