Original artwork description
A flower appears at the edge of visibility. Parts of its form are carefully held, while others disappear completely into light, water and untouched paper. A single stem anchors the composition as pink pigment spreads beyond the boundaries of the petals.
The painting explores how little is needed for a flower to remain present. Rather than describing its complete form, I was interested in what happens when parts are allowed to vanish. What remains is not an exact image, but an impression — somewhere between observation, memory and absence.
