I’m Finding My Way (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Nahid Aamina Sowkath

I’m interested in the moments when we don't quite know where we are going, but keep moving anyway.

I created this painting through layers of soft blue, green, grey and warm earthy colours. Some areas are deliberately loose and open, while stronger marks emerge through the centre, giving the painting a sense of movement and change.

I wasn't trying to describe a particular landscape. Instead, I wanted to capture the feeling of slowly finding your way through something..allowing uncertainty, pauses and small moments of clarity to exist together.

For me, the painting is about change, patience and the quiet hope that comes with knowing that you don't have to have everything figured out at once.
