About Nahid Aamina Sowkath

I create contemporary paintings inspired by atmosphere, memory, and the emotional connection we have with landscapes and quiet moments. Through layered color, expressive brushwork, and softened abstraction, I explore stillness, shifting light, horizons, florals, and the feeling of spaces rather than exact representations of them. As both an artist and art educator with over eight years of practice, painting has become a way for me to slow down, observe, and translate emotion into visual form. I’m especially drawn to creating work that feels calm, reflective, and deeply human while still remaining open to personal interpretation.
