Original artwork description
Inspired by the rugged faces of mountain summits and the dynamic shift of weather, this original 48 x 47-inch acrylic painting explores the interplay of sunlight, shadow, and stone.
Executed with a heavy palette knife technique, thick layers of impasto paint form a sculptural, tactile representation of a cliff face. Vivid oranges and golden tones evoke direct sunlight reflecting off rock edges, while cool magentas, turquoise blues, and earthy greens capture the atmosphere of mountain mist, rain, and shifting daylight.
The central form is set against a smooth, solid slate-grey background, isolating the raw energy of nature into a contemporary, high-contrast focal point.
