Holiday cactus (2025) Original Oil Painting by Tomas Stanaitis

At first I saw this as a very, very attractive motif for a painting. The overall beauty of the shape, the cold palette of the "leaves" and blossom. It was a pleasure to paint. After I finished painting it, someone told me that this is a Holiday cactus, and it is often given during the Christmas holiday as a gift for good luck. :)
